How to Adjust Soft Close Toilet Seat

Once you have located the adjustment screw, carefully loosen it using a flathead screwdriver. When you loosen the screw, the seat and lid will become slightly looser, which will make it easier to adjust.
Next, you will need to adjust the seat and lid tension. To do this, you will need to use a wrench. Begin by gently turning the wrench clockwise to increase the tension, or counterclockwise to decrease the tension.
